Craving authenticity

September 25, 2025

We’re surrounded by noise. Every content feed, inbox message, every notification competes for attention with clever tricks, emojis, and AI-generated content. Heck, most of emails in my inbox are broadcast content that’s not tailored to me; the email from a human as a personal note that make me take note is pretty rare.

But people aren’t fooled. They don’t need more polish or performance. Everyone is doing that. They’re craving something real.

Here’s the deal:

For nonprofits, that’s the advantage. You’re not selling another gadget or a gimmick. You’re building trust around hard, slow work that has an emotional connection— the kind of work that makes society better. The kind of work that says “yeah, people like us support causes like this”.

In a noisy world where people shy away from truth; authenticity is magnetic.

Best regards,

Andy

As we saw this past weekend, this website has power. There were three groups of volunteers that contacted Tampa Heights community garden about our volunteer day on Jan. 18th. They were a huge help. That would not have been possible without the COCG website.
