With the World Cup just about here starting on June 11, I have thought about this small organization called The Ball I recently learned about.
Here’s how they describe it (from https://theball.tv/about/):
On The Ball’s epic journey to the World Cup, it is played with in organised games of football, in kick-abouts and in juggling sessions. Anyone and everyone can engage with The Ball, sign it, kick it and help it along its way. The Ball becomes a representative of unity in a divided world. It enriches the World Cup with a symbol that matches the spirit of the Olympic Flame.
What got me is how much they managed to encapsulate in one simple, visual idea.
A single ball.
A journey to the World Cup.
A chant anyone can understand: One Ball! One World!
That’s it.
No elaborate campaign or hype. No over-explaining. It’s human, real and authentic. Just a symbol people can see, touch, kick, sign, and understand instantly.
And then this line really was the clincher (from https://theball.tv/2026/):

That can change someone’s mind about the earth and our planet, and give someone pause about it. To reflect and feel a bit more human. Because it was true and genuine.
Can your people understand what you stand for that quickly? Can they see it, feel it and repeat it simply?
